International Driver's Licence

An International Driver's Licence (IDL) helps you drive overseas using your own valid driver's license. It is usually requested by car rental companies and is often requested by traffic authorities if you show your foreign driver's license.

IDL translates your driver's license into a language your target country understands. It is designed to be simple to use and easy to understand for both English and non-English speakers.

The International Drivers Association uses the standard form of the 1949 Geneva Convention on Road Traffic, adopted in more than 150 countries.
